What is the best exercise for fat loss? Well, the truth is that there are many great fat loss exercises, and in an ideal world you would perform all of them. This world eliminate boredom, reduce the risk of pattern overload syndrome (overuse injuries), and maximize your results.
Some great fat loss exercises are sprinting, hill sprints, and sled drags. But there are some lesser known exercises that are just as effective, and in fact, have big advantages over some of the more traditional movements.
One of those exercises is the Advanced Burpee/Chin Up Combo. It is a unique exercise in that it truly works the entire body. It incorporates an upper body push and pull with an abdominal plank and a rocket jump.
Because it works all of these functions simultaneously, it is one of the most time efficient movements you can perform. When done properly, it can help you burn more fat in just a few minutes than you could if you did an entire 30 minute aerobic workout!
There are many ways to incorporate this exercise into your routine but I typically prescribe it as a finisher. Here’s how:
At the end of your workout, set a timer for 5 minutes and perform as many quality reps as you can during that time period. Try to increase your reps each time you do this workout. Simple yet effective!
Another option would be perforing 3 sets of 20 reps as your finisher. Rest one minute in between sets. Each workout decrease your rest by 10 seconds.
Since technique is of the utmost importance when performing this particular exercise, I shot a video for you today so I could break things down in a step-by-step format. Check it out here:
